Why drug interactions matter with peptides

GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide slow gastric emptying. That changes how your body absorbs other oral medications — timing, blood levels, and effectiveness can all shift. This is especially important for drugs with narrow therapeutic windows like warfarin, insulin, and thyroid medication.

For non-FDA-approved peptides like BPC-157, formal drug interaction data barely exists. Most of what we know comes from animal studies and clinical observation. That doesn't mean interactions are impossible — it means they haven't been studied well enough to rule out.

The practical takeaway: always give your provider a complete medication list. Don't skip the supplements, the OTC drugs, or the peptides you bought online. They can't catch interactions they don't know about.

Always consult a licensed healthcare provider before starting, stopping, or changing any medication or therapy.
