Selank
Also known as: TP-7, Selanc
A synthetic peptide derived from the natural immune peptide tuftsin, developed in Russia for anxiety and cognitive support. It is approved in Russia for generalized anxiety disorder but not in the US.
How it works
Selank is a tuftsin analog that works on the GABAergic system in the brain, which is the same system targeted by anti-anxiety drugs like benzodiazepines. It also influences BDNF expression, serotonin metabolism, and immune function. Because it comes from tuftsin (a natural part of your immune system), it also has immunomodulatory properties. It is given as a nasal spray.
Common uses

- Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale scores dropped from 20.3 to 7.0 by day 3 in rapid responders
- Studies show Selank modulates GABAergic neurotransmission gene expression (2016 PMC study)

- Was placed on FDA Category 2 list in September 2023
- Expected to return to Category 1 under 2026 FDA reclassification, pending formal publication
